How the adult web gets paid

Adult payments run through a narrow set of specialist high-risk card billers — and a growing number of sites hedge against being cut off by accepting crypto or gift cards. This maps the money infrastructure the census can observe.

Card billers & processors

Detected on rendered pages — the high-risk billers (CCBill, Segpay, Epoch, Verotel and peers) that dominate adult payments.

Alternative payment methods

De-risking signals — sites accepting these are harder to cut off via the card networks.

Sites accepting cryptocurrency

Processors and methods are detected from each site’s rendered pages; absence of a signal may mean it was on a billing page not scanned, not that it’s unsupported. As of 2026-10-06.
