Canada pornography age-verification bill — Bill S-209 (45th Parliament) - Protecting Young Persons from Exposure to Pornography Act
proposed age verification required
Senate public bill that would make it an offence to make sexually explicit material available online to minors for commercial purposes without age verification, with Federal Court power to order blocking of non-compliant sites. It reintroduces Bill S-210, which passed the Senate but died in the House of Commons when Parliament was dissolved for the 2025 election. S-209 was at second reading in the House of Commons (placed in the Order of Precedence on 30 April 2026); not in force.
